NEW ENHANCED LIVING PROGRAM CREATES
OPTIONS FOR WAVERLY GARDENS SENIORSA new program that expands the level of services available to independent residents has been announced by management of the 197-unit Waverly Gardens senior housing rental apartment community at 6539 Knight Arnold Road in East Memphis.
Joseph Kennedy, president and founder of Memphis-based Integra Management Services Co. and a co-owner of the property, says Waverly’s new Enhanced Living program “addresses the needs of seniors who are looking for a gracious, independent lifestyle but who need help from time to time doing the little things in life.”
Kennedy points out that the Waverly Gardens community has 157 independent living and 40 assisted living apartment units in studio, one- and two-bedroom configurations, plus deluxe companion suites. Standard amenities for all residents include three daily meals, weekly housekeeping, an active social program, scheduled transportation and a state-of-the-art emergency call system.
Assisted living residents live in a special block of apartments called The Terrace and receive comprehensive assistance with specific activities of daily living (ADLs), and receive 24 hour support by licensed professionals. ADLs for assisted living residents routinely involve medication management and help with a variety of daily tasks, including bathing, dressing, walking, transferring from bed to a chair and so forth.
Kennedy says the new program addresses the needs of independent residents who may occasionally need assistance with some of these activities on a modified or less frequent basis. The company has made arrangements with a licensed professional service company to coordinate and administer the new program from space provided in the apartment complex..
“Residents will independently contract whatever level of service they need, and will pay only for services delivered,.” he noted.
Waverly Gardens is Shelby County’s senior housing value leader with monthly rentals for independent living apartments from a studio to a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment. Assisted living rates also available.The Waverly Gardens community is located on 11.56 landscaped acres in East Memphis at the border of suburban Germantown. The property has 126,449-square-feet of net rental space in eight single-story buildings that are connected by enclosed hallways. Most units have screened patios and all have access to private courtyards.
Extensive interior and exterior renovations are in progress and landscaping improvements will enhance the property’s country club-like setting.
